Confirmed? From where? You got a source?

Everything I have is that his campaign people say there will be a statement to later today to dispel this rumour.

The interesting thing about this is how many were in a rush to declare him dead - I know extremely senior people, members of current and former governments, who not only confirmed his death, but said they had an interest in the position.

I'd be employing an official taster from now on if I was him.

Either way, he is dangerously weakened and this could divide the PDP still further.

Is the guy dead or not? Why is the government quiet about this? Something is wrong...

Exactly, They have to bury him within 24 hours because he's a Muslim. But he's not dead. They have issued official statements on this. Classic example of rumours gone wild - even to top officials.

Somewhat belatedly, it must be said.

Politically, he may be as good as dead.

Leaves the way open to IBB....
